Verification process - Why do I need to verify my profile?

Verification helps ensure a trusted, professional environment on myAO. It confirms your medical credentials and allows you to access restricted features, communities, and verified peer collaboration.

Who needs to complete verification?
You need verification if:

• You are a new AO registered member, or

• Your account has no previous activity that allows automatic identity confirmation.

What documents can I upload?
You can submit one of the following:

• Medical license or official confirmation from your institution

• DPM or ORP certification (if applicable)

• Hospital ID badge

• Valid medical certificate
  Your document must clearly show your name and specialty or job title.

How long does verification take?
The review process usually takes up to 24 hours after document submission.

What happens after approval?
Once approved, a Verified badge will appear on your profile, confirming your professional status within the AO community.

What if my document is rejected?
You will be notified and asked to upload a clearer or alternative document.

Can I use myAO while waiting for verification?
Yes, but access to certain features and communities may remain limited until verification is complete.
